Playtech Expanding into Social Gaming MarketPlaytech has reached an agreement with Skywind Holdings Limited that will enable the company to expand into the social gaming market. Playtech has been a leader in online gaming software for many years and this latest agreement positions them to get more involved in social gaming. Playtech issued a statement that explains what they are looking to do in the future. "Social gaming has experienced significant growth over the last two years & is now a multi-billion dollar market with revenues generated in a number of ways, including the real money purchase by end users of social currency such as Facebook credits.” the Playtech statement said. Playtech believes that they will be able to offer a wide variety of products for players on a social gaming network. Those games will include poker, bingo, and a variety of casino games. "Mobile & social gaming will lead the gaming industry's growth & present significant opportunities for the Company.” Playtech’s chief executive Mor Weizer said, “With access to a sizable & proven development team Playtech will be able to maintain its position as the leading online gaming software provider.” The agreement with Skywind will give Playtech access to developers who focus on social gaming products and mobile software while Skywind will be able to use Playtech’s games and content on a royalty fee basis. |
